Sakai Brewery was founded in 1871 thanks to the infiltrated ultra-soft water from Nishiki River flowing to Iwakuni City. Sakai Brewery holds a preference for sake brewing combining the trinity of “Rice, Water and People” born of Yamaguchi prefecture’s climate. Its sake is proudly made in Yamaguchi. In 1947, its sake brand “Gokyo” won the first place in the All Japan New Sake Competition. The brand becomes popular hence force.

Ryusei from local Hiroshima prefecture has been known nationwide as a top brand thereafter.
